The microphone does not record anything
Make sure the app has microphone permission. Open the iOS Settings app → VocalLens → Microphone, and enable access. Please also check that no other app is currently using the microphone.
My score seems unexpectedly low or high
Scores reflect acoustic features relative to reference data. Background noise, distance from the microphone, and recording in a very reverberant room can all shift the result. Try recording in a quiet environment, 15–20 cm from the microphone, at a natural speaking or singing volume.
Recordings are not stored anywhere remotely
Your voice audio never leaves your device. Only anonymised numerical scores are uploaded, and only when you explicitly request AI coaching. See our privacy policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling the app removes all device-local data. To delete survey responses or session scores stored in the cloud, please contact us at the email below.
How does the ad-free survey reward work?
Completing the monthly in-app survey grants 30 days of ad-free use of the interstitial ad that normally appears after each recording. The reward is reset when you complete the next monthly survey.
